College Ministry opportunities are always abundantly available, yet sometimes can seem difficult to find. As a college student with a tight schedule and many different commitments to cling to, getting involved can many times take a back seat to other things we have going on in our lives. So, what are some easy ways for college students to get involved right on campus and even off-campus in the Anderson area?
While outreach and ministry opportunities may not always be clearly advertised, there are many organizations that are always in need of ministry assistance.

Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) is a South Carolina state-wide ministry that spans 27 college campuses throughout the state. BCM’s goal is to see every student saturated and transformed by the Hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is a world-wide ministry organization that has over 20 thousand groups that meet throughout the week. FCA is represented in over 90 countries and effects the lives of hundreds of thousands of people every year. FCA’s goal is to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. The great news: FCA is not limited to just athletes, all are invited and welcomed into one of the largest ministries in the world.
Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) is a nation-wide college ministry that is represented on campuses all around the country. RUF is officially of the Presbyterian denomination of Christianity, but welcome all college students into their community and ministry. RUF exists to announce and demonstrate to the world the words and work of Jesus Christ. (http://www.ruf.org/)
Campus Crusade for Christ International (CRU) is a non-denomination international ministry organization that boasts groups in 109 countries and over 5,300 groups in total across the globe. The mission of CRU is to win, build, and send Christ-centered multiplying disciples out into the world. CRU is open to all denominations and all people as they want to reach as many students as they can in the college stage of their lives.
5. The Lot Project
The Lot Project is an Anderson, SC based ministry that strives to use food and clothing ministries as avenues to show Jesus’ love and build lasting relationships with friends from the community. This ministry meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 – 6:00 pm. (https://www.thelotproject.com/

The Anderson, SC are is filled with many theologically sound gatherings that happen each Sunday morning. Students can get involved in many different areas within these churches such as: children’s ministry, youth ministry, praise team, small groups, college ministry, etc.

Throughout the Anderson area there are tons of ministry opportunities through community service. The following are a small sample of the many opportunities: Anderson County Meals on Wheels, Anderson Interfaith Ministries (AIM), Family Promise of Anderson County, Habitat for Humanity of Anderson County, Haven of Rest, United Way of Anderson County, etc.
