“don’t limit your creativity to someones elses creativity” Tori ASHMORE
We recently sat down with Tori Ashmore from Atlanta, Georgia and talked to her all about running an interior design firm. She is the owner of Farm Chic Creations, which is an interior and architectural design firm. Her firm is growing by the minute. She specifically works on designing homes from the ground up or even styles and stage homes for investors. In the podcast we ask her a series of questions regarding what her experience has been like building a business.

By talking to her, we discovered that she is not only a business owner, but is a mother of four kids and has a farm full of animals. She discusses how she has had to learn how to balance all of this while still adding on new clients. Tori states “I chose to put my career on hold while kids were small. I decided to start this demanding business once my kids were older and pretty independent.” Keeping up with so many job can be very exhausting and is not always easy. In the podcast she talks on this topic. We asked her “What are some of the struggles you faced that first year of opening Farm Chic Design, and how did you move forward?” She responded “Wearing so many hats! I recognized my weakness pretty quickly and began trying to build my team. It is hard to be patient while building a cliental and funds you know you need to support the team.
Tori is killing it on Instagram. This is a platform that can really help and expand a business. She shared a few tips on how she maximizes Instagram. She states “A while back, I started listening to some podcasts and studied how to grow my following. I have learned that hashtags are key! Use them and use good ones. Give aways also always help me gain followers fast. Lastly, be real. People want to feel connected and apart of our lives. Be will to put your personality out there and own it.”
Tori concluded by sharing how she is working on 6 major projects right now. “We just poured the foundation for a new ground up project. Seeing that come to life is exciting. We are also about to purchase a lot in Milton and I am designing a spec house that my team will build.” She also mentioned there is a secret project coming up that she is pumped to reveal.
