This season of life can be busy and stressful for many young adults. Many of us are stuck on our college campuses studying or in business meetings. It is always good to have a weekend getaway with friends or even a change of scenery. Kiawah Island is just the place for you and there are plenty of attractions on this private island. Now, you are probably wondering what to do. Here are 5 attractions you can do while you are at Kiawah Island:

Freshfields

Freshfields is full of nice shops and restaurants such as Lululemon, Vineyard Vines, Southern Tide, Bluemercury, Lilly Pulitzer, Harris Teeter, Cantina 76, and many other options. Great for a shopping day with the girls. It is even great for fun family nights as there is a live band some nights outside in the grass and the kids can run around and play. This is about 5-10 minutes off the island and it has the closest shops and restaurants.

Golfing

Kiawah Island is home to 5 public golf courses and 2 private golf courses that are for members only. The Professional Golf Association (PGA) tour was played at Kiawah. It was played on the Ocean course in 2021. The golf courses here are beautiful, nice, and well-kept. If you are a golfer, I encourage you to play a round or two even though most courses here do not have caddies.

Bohicket Marina

Bohicket is about 8 minutes from the island. There is a Salty Dog Cafe, which is a fun family-friendly restaurant with live music. There is an amazing ice cream shop right beside Salty Dog called Ben and Jerry’s. In the evenings, you will be able to see the boats coming in and the fish the fishermen caught.

Beaches

The beaches here are my absolute favorite. One of the best things about a private beach is that there are not a lot of people and you have your own space on the beach with your family and friends. At night, you can ride your bike or take a walk on the beach and watch the beautiful sunset.

Close To Charleston

Charleston is about 40 minutes away from Kiawah. It is great for a day trip and there are so many things to do downtown. It is also beautiful with many historical sites and places to see. There are so many places to shop, an aquarium, carriage rides, and so many other attractions to do as you explore downtown Charleston.
