How to Make Lunchtime a Little Easier by Meal Prepping

Written by: Ashley Caputo

It might feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day, and that you don’t have time to make yourself a nice lunch before you go to work. Picking up food from somewhere seems like your best option, but you might feel guilty for opting out of eating a nutritious lunch. What you eat can have an impact on you, physically and mentally, so it is important that you give yourself the lunch your body and your schedule deserve. Here is how you can make lunchtime at the office a little easier by meal prepping.

1. Pick a Meal

Meal Prepping is the way to go. Not only is meal prepping really easy to do, but it can save you a lot of time in the long run. Pick a recipe that you like or find one online, and make sure that it is not a time-consuming recipe. Remember, you want to make this as easy for yourself as possible. If you are struggling to find a recipe you like, Pinterest is a great place to look for some meal prep ideas. Some common options are usually salads or chicken with some sides.

2. Schedule and Purchase

Once you have decided what meal you are going to make, pick a day that you want to meal prep. Sundays are a great option since you can prep all your weekly meals before your workweek begins. However, it all depends on what works best with your schedule. Pick a day where you know you have a little extra time. Once you are set on a day, you can go out and buy your ingredients. It is important that you stick to the day that you planned on so that your ingredients don’t go bad. The last thing you want to do is waste time and money.

3. Make your Meals

The last step is to make your meals. You can always meal prep for the next day the night before, but the best option is to make several meals on your scheduled day. If you know you would like to eat 3 healthy meals during the week, then make sure that you purchase enough ingredients for three meals. However, most meal prep recipes make more than one meal. Once you are done making your meals, place them in separate tupperware containers and store them in your fridge.

Now that you have all your meals prepped for the week, all you have to do is take it out of the fridge before you head out for work each day. No more worrying about what you’re going to eat for lunch at work, or whether or not you’re eating the healthiest option. We hope you give meal prepping a try and know that it is not limited to lunch. You can meal prep breakfast or even dinner. Do what makes your life just a little bit easier.
