We all know that the most typical meeting place for business is lunch, but are there other options when a lunch seems to get old? Here are our top 5 places to meet with a client other than lunch.

5. A Coffee shop

Coffee shop meeting

This is a great place to meet whether you want to meet with a client for 20 minutes or for 2 hours and the cost is much less than if you were to go out for lunch. This also offers flexibility with hours depending on if it is a chain or local shop. While a coffee shop does offer a cheap supplement for lunch it does come with its downsides.

Coffee shops are not private places and it may be hard to have a private conversation while there. You might also be fighting for space in a coffee shop and could be forced into a dark corner where it is uncomfortable to sit and speak. While it is still a good place to meet, maybe use it as a more informal meeting.

4. A Hotel Meeting

A hotel can offer a secluded place for a formal or a casual meeting. It can also be a good place for a client to meet if they are, or you are, from out of town. A hotel can also provide features during a meeting that would not in other places, such as presentation tools.

A hotel is a great place to meet, but it can seem less personal than coffee, lunch, or our other suggestions. So you should probably stick to more professional meetings that involve a larger group instead of an intimate meeting.

3. In Your Home

A great place to meet for a business meeting might also be your own home. This is a great place to meet because it can be intimate, private, and a controlled environment that may be easily accessible for both parties. This is also a great place for your client to feel welcomed by you. Additionally, you will both be able to speak freely.

Make sure if you are going to meet in your home that you clean up before hand. If you think that it would be easier, there are other at home options such as meeting via Skype, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams.

2. Meeting at the Golf Course

Any local golf course can be a quality meeting place for business proposals, pitches, or just a simple get-together. This not only provides a remote place, but it also includes an activity. Golf provides many options including the driving range, 9 holes, and the fully 18 holes.

The golf course can be tricky if you are a competitive person or if you are not a good golfer. Make sure that your equipment is up-to-date and that you are practiced up to your competition.
